This project addresses the widely discussed energy inefficiencies of Mies van der Rohe’s architectural masterpiece, the Farnsworth House. Through precise analysis of daylighting factors, we explore and design two distinct shading systems aimed at optimizing the building’s performance, enhancing energy efficiency, and maintaining its architectural integrity.
